Parking E-Stamps for office buildings: how tenant hour coupons work

Good Jobs

A parking E-Stamp system replaces the rubber stamp on a parking ticket with a record in the system. Tenant companies buy parking hour coupons from the building in advance. When a visitor drives in, someone at the tenant company issues an E-Stamp for that car by its plate or by scanning the QR code on the ticket. The free hours come out of the company coupons, and any remaining fee is paid by PromptPay QR before the car leaves. Visitors no longer walk their ticket to a counter, and the building knows straight away how many hours each tenant has used.

Why office buildings move away from paper stamps

  • Visitors have to go back to the company they visited, or queue at a counter, before they can leave.
  • Stamps and stickers can be copied, and nobody can trace which stamp was issued by whom.
  • How many free hours each tenant gave away is only known after a manual count at month end.
  • A stamp issued to the wrong car cannot be taken back.

How an E-Stamp works, from entry to exit

  1. Pre-registration (when the visit is known): the tenant company registers the visitor in its portal with the plate, a time window and free parking, so the barrier already knows the car when it arrives.
  2. Entry: the camera at the barrier reads the plate, and a car using paid parking takes a ticket.
  3. E-Stamp: someone at the tenant company issues the E-Stamp in the portal, by plate or by scanning the ticket QR. The hours come out of the company coupons.
  4. Remaining fee: anything still owed is paid by PromptPay QR on the ticket, in the lobby or at the exit lane screen.
  5. Mistakes can be undone: a cancelled E-Stamp returns its coupon to the company.

What the building office sees

  • E-Stamps issued today, and the companies whose coupons are running low.
  • A coupon ledger on both the building side and the tenant side.
  • Tickets still parked, unpaid bills and the revenue collected.
  • An entry and exit log you can download as CSV, plus traffic and revenue reports.

Questions to ask before choosing a parking E-Stamp system

  • Can tenant companies manage their own users and buy coupons without going through the building office?
  • Can an E-Stamp be issued both by plate and from the ticket? Some visitors do not remember their plate.
  • Can a wrong E-Stamp be cancelled, and do the hours go back to the company?
  • What does the guard do when the camera cannot read a plate?
  • Can we keep the barrier we already have, and the camera model we already own?
  • Does it run in the cloud, on an on-site box, or both?

With GatePass LPR, tenant companies manage users, buy coupons and issue E-Stamps from their own portal, by plate or ticket QR, and a cancelled stamp returns its coupon. When rain, mud or an awkward angle defeats the camera, the guard types the plate and the rest of the flow is unchanged. An existing barrier can usually be reused through a relay. Supported LPR cameras are Dahua, Hikvision and ZKTeco, and other brands are assessed at the site survey. It runs in the cloud, on an on-site box, or both.
